Abstract

Bicuspid Aortic Valve (BAV) is the most common congenital heart malformation that lacks BAV-specific prognostic markers other than the development of aortic stenosis. Over the past few decades, it has been shown that mechanical and genetic factors both contribute to pathology associated with BAV. The relationship between aortic sinus morphology, cardiac remodeling, and clinical status has never been studied. We propose the development of an analytic aortic valve based on the shape and relationships between the aortic sinuses.
