A History of Trans Health Care at OHSU Public Deposited
This file contains the slides and text of an OHSU Historical Collections & Archives (HC&A) Curator's Talk, in which University Archivist Steve Duckworth spoke on the documented history of transgender health care at OHSU, starting in 1917 with alumnus Alan Hart. Over the course of more than a hundred years, the support for trans care at OHSU waxed and waned, but the changes paint a picture of slow-growing support for trans patients and their medical and health needs. This talk grew out of the 2019 HC&A exhibit, Queering OHSU, which explored the LGBTQ+ history of the institution.
